The Flinders Medical Students Society was established in 1979 and is a non-profit student run organisation. We provide many opportunities for our members to develop professionally, network and connect with staff and students. Be sure to check this website on a regular basis for up-coming events and resources that will help you while you are at Flinders Medical School.
President's Welcome
Welcome all, to what promises to be an incredibly busy and yet greatly fulfilling year at Flinders Medical School! On behalf of the Flinders Medical Student Society (FMSS) I would like to welcome you to our new and improved website. We have streamlined our online resources to provide our members and sponsors with improved access to event information and other resources. This website, combined with our many other forms of communication, including Placebo (published 4 times yearly,) will keep members informed of upcoming events and the many extra-curricular opportunities available. Links with other organisations such as AMSA and the AMA enable members to engage in relevant issues in the ever-evolving world of healthcare.
The new crew have many exciting events planned for the year and the first few weeks are guaranteed to be packed with loads of chances for first years to meet and greet both new and old students. FMSS aims to represent and involve all its members in a wide variety of activities and facilitate connections within the community at large including both social and academic activities. There are countless ways to get involved and we are always eager to hear new ideas from our members, so make the most of it!‼
FMSS also provides a wide range of activities to Flinders Medical students which aim to involve members in extra-curricular activities and foster a sense of community and togetherness within the programme. With O-Week, half-way parties, wild surfari adventures, Medball and the Christmas in July dinner 2009 is brimming with fun-filled events for members of all years. We look forward to your involvement in attending and lending a helping hand with all of this year's social activities.
The Flinders Medical Students Society reflects the diversity of backgrounds and perspectives; which is seen within our course and aims to provide an inclusive, welcoming environment for student interaction. On behalf of FMSS, I thank you for your interest and involvement in the coming year.
