Flinders Medical Students' Society

What We Do

The Flinders Medical Students' Society supports a diverse range of students at Flinders Medical School. As the only graduate-entry medical program in South Australia, our students come from a wide range of age groups and and backgrounds – ranging from students who are recent high-school leavers to those who have had former professional backgrounds in health, business and the arts. In addition to academic, social and community events, a key pillar of FMSS is our role in student advocacy, with representatives sitting on the committees of key medical professional and educational bodies.

Since 2011, FMSS has provided student services to a new medical school in Darwin as part of Flinders Medical School's expanded campus, supporting local Indigenous medical students in the Northern Territory. In the long-term, FMSS will build upon our strong foundation as the peak representative society for medical students to ensure that student advocacy continues to be one of our central pillars.
